Built by Nathaniel West in the 1800s, the Stephen Phillips Trust House became, in 1911, property of the Phillips family, affluent travelers who stocked it with eclectic objects from around the world. The grand estate holds cultural artifacts ranging from Fiji throwing clubs to African woodcarvings, as well as dozens of hours of 16 mm home movie footage from the early 20th century. It lies in the heart of town, about 20 miles up the coast from Boston, near Mack Park.
