In a town famous for its witch-related attractions, the Witch House is the only extant structure that is directly connected to the Witch Trials of 1692. It was the home of 17th-century judge and investigator Jonathan Corwin, who played an instrumental role in sentencing 19 alleged witches to the gallows. Today, the historic house can be toured, offering historic exhibits with period furnishings and artifacts, and architectural elements ranging from lattice-grid windows to an antique brick fireplace. It lies downtown, at the intersection of Route 114 and Essex Street.
